Ikea Motion Sensor not pairing to the hub
TravelScape_Romania (TravelScape Romania) 1
Hello there all of you and a happy new year. I have been strugling with an ikea motion sensor for 2 days now, not pairing to the hub (v3). I have deleted it in order to have an edge driver allocated to it. Since there no success in pairing. Checked batteries, restart hub, installing different edge drivers and nothing. I am receiving an error code too I have tried to pair it with nearby scanning, also with ikea selection frpm devices. If anyone have any ideea i will be grateful. Thanks a lot.

You need to pair them really close to the hub. I put them right on top of my hub for pairing.

Thanks for your reply. I did try this also with no result. As you say, on top of the hub literally.

I have never got an error message, but it always takes numerous attempts to get them paired.
On top of that they are “poor” motion detectors. I get many false trips.
I am an using @Mariano_Colmenarejo “ZigBee motion sensor Mc” Edge Driver. You might want to load it on your hub before pairing.

Ikea Vallhorn False Motion Detection
OandO (Mike E) 1
Just set up two of the new Ikea Vallhorn motion detectors to replace the older Ikea Tradfri motion sensors because I’m tired of coin cell batteries. (The new ones use AAA which should gods longer and I’m more likely to have them on hand.) Unfortunately, both devices are frequently detecting motion when there fryst vatten none. About times an hour. One is in a storage room with no heat or fönster so inom don’t think it fryst vatten being tricked by heat or sunlight. Unfortunately, inom am experiencing the same issue with both devices and inom never had this bekymmer on my older motion sensors. inom know these devices are brand new but if anyone else has them, are they working correctly for you? I’m using ZHA on a conbee stick.

I’m experiencing the same issue, having 2 Vallhorns, and I’ve tried it 3 different spots, but the ghost motions seems to never stop. Mailbox (outdoor), bathroom and kitchen.
In some cases it triggers on motion every second-ish (20 seconds specifying motion until returning to clear for seconds, then repeats). Suddenly it stops registering motion, and it takes anything from 5 mi

Ikea Motion sensor motion detected during the night
Daniel3D (Dany) 1
Hi
My Ikea motion sensor detects motion and starts some automation during the night, when nobody walks in front of this sensor.
I don’t know what is going wrong? I don’t find anything to modify sensibility or something like that. Any idea?

False triggering of PIRs overnight is completely normal due to the cooling of air, furniture, etc causing heat movements that can appear to the thermal sensor as movement.
As batteries discharge they can also become more sensitive to temperature which is why is the classic time for PIR (and smoke detector) issues.
Alarm system PIRs include logic to only trigger after several detections (double knock), but HA PIRs are designed to trigger straight away.
You could add a conditional to the automation, or try replacing the battery. As it is an IKEA sensor, I’d also suggest enabling automatic firmware updates in ZHA in the Z-Wave integration.
If this helps, this post!

Thanks for this great information!!!
I have 60% of battery,
But I can change in order to check if the percentage i
