    CONSTRUCTION
    Molly mitts are worked in the round, seamlessly from the bottom up, in 2x2 ribbing. The thumb is worked in stockinette stitch.
    Both mittens are worked in the same way.

    The idea for the Sardine mittens came about when one of my son’s wanted to try stranded knitting for the first time. After some thinking, he decided that he wanted to knit a pair of mittens with fish on them, because he loves to go fishing.

    We spent a lot of time searching for an “easy to knit” pattern with fish, but couldn’t find anything he liked that was easy enough. So we decided to make our own pattern that would be easy to knit, without long floats.
    The mitten with the small fish saw the light of the day!

    When we had knitted the first mitten, we thougt that it would be nice to make a matching mitten, but with just one big fish. The mitten with the big fish is a little more difficult to knit and you need to tie floats every third to fourth stitch for almost the entire work. If you are a beginner at stranded knitting I recommend that you start with a pair of mittens with the small fish, but otherwise you can mix and match the motifs any way you like!

    The mitten comes in two sizes. Size medium = women’s size and size large = men’s size.
    If you (or the person you are knitting for) have a bit smaller or larger hands, you can knit a slightly smalle
