High Chaparral Theme Park
Western theme park and museum in Sweden
High Chaparral is a Wild Westtheme park and post-industrialmuseum of cultural artifacts and collectibles, located close to Värnamo, Sweden. It opened in and was founded by Bengt Erlandsson, more commonly known as "Big Bengt".
The park is located near Hillerstorp in Gnosjö Municipality and on the border with Värnamo Municipality. and the national parkStore Mosse. It is close to the E4 motorway and Swedish national road
History
[edit]Bengt Erlandsson was born in in Brännehylte, Småland, Sweden. His parents owned a forest farm and a saw mill. His interest in the American frontier and Wild West was born from coming from a countryside where many had emigrated to America and from the stories they told. Erlandsson went to the United States himself in at age 34 and in four months touring covered 4, kilometres (2,&#;mi). He came back to Sweden with a lot of impressions. When the Swedish national phone company had to get rid of , telephone poles, Erlandsson took the opportunity and constructed a western American style frontier fort and town with log cabins as it might have been used by the old United States Cav

En herlig westernby for hele familien
High Chaparral er en herlig westernby med cowboys, banditter, sheriffer og guldgravere. Byen er imponerende flot lavet med hoteller, saloons, restauranter og butikker i ægte Wild West stil, og pistolmænd som går rundt i gaderne med deres seksløber i bæltet. Her kan børn (og voksne) i alle aldre spille cowboy og lege, at de befinder sig i USAs midtvesten i 'erne.Westernbyen er ikke en traditionel forlystelsespark, men en temapark. Her er masser af atmosfære og underholdning, men kun få ting "at prøve", såsom en tur med det gamle damplokomotiv eller hjuldamperen, guldvaskning eller besøg på Big Bengt Museum (er ikke inkluderet i entréen).
High Chaparral byder på oplevelser for alle sanser. Publikum vil møde de mange forskellige figurer, som levede i det vilde vesten: cowboys, banditter, sheriffer, mexicanere, og så High Chaparrals helt, Lucky Luke.

Throw yourself into the adventure!
Take the train to Old Mexico, pan for gold, board a paddle steamer, jakt bad guys or go at full gallop on a hobbyhorse. At High Chaparral there are lots of exciting Wild West experiences. Some of the adventures are included in the ticket price, while others cost a little extra.

Of course a real Wild West town has shops. Cowboy hats, pickadolls, hobbyhorses, stuffed animals, souvenirs, Mexican handicrafts – you’ll find it all here!
Yee Haaa! - dive on in!
Cowboys' hygiene may not have been great, but at High Chaparral they love water. The campsite has its very own lake that not only offers great swimming but also has a lovely sandy beach for sandcastle building or relaxing with a good book.
Pack your plunder, we’re sleeping in the wild tonight
In the past, it was common for both cowboys and cowgirls to sleep beneath the stars when they were on the move. At High Chaparral there are better options. Everything from camping and cabins to mobile homes, all with the Wild West around the corner.
